Here is something interesting about my past week: I started a new position at a new school this week. The staff are awesome and everyone did their best to welcome me with warm embraces. It was a big change, but all the people involved made sure I was well taken care of. Physically, I had been working out and felt strong. Mentally, I was thankful to be making more money and grateful for the new job. However, I wasn’t eating well or sleeping much and my body just crashed on Thursday! I knew I had a big weekend of events ahead of me and I wasn’t absorbing everything I was being taught during training and my mind and body just decided it was too much. I am an anxious person, but I like to think I am smart about it and have lots of steps in place to help with it (medicine, exercise, counselling, books). I do a lot to keep calm, so when anxious feelings take over, I get really frustrated. It is a total loss of control, it is very uncomfortable and embarrassing. The last person I want to be at any job is a person that brings the team down, but that is how I am when I am going through an anxious moment. Unfortunately, anxious moments last for more than a moment, they last for days. Days of feeling brain fog, shaky, disoriented and exhausted to the point of just collapsing and wanting to sleep forever. Anyways, you get the picture, it sucks. However (another however), I didn’t know this, but powers beyond me were actually leading me to take a step back and force myself to relax. It’s now Saturday, I have 3 balloon events this weekend and am the day of coordinator at a friend’s wedding. At present, I am feeling so much better! I think I was meant to have this anxious event earlier this week, so I would step back and focus on health before the big weekend. I am not thankful I had to go through two days of disorientation and worry, but I am thankful it didn’t happen this weekend! I’m going to keep allowing what is meant to be, be. I am going to eat my vegetable and I am going to sleep at least 8hours a night. All is well! And the first balloon event went awesome 🔝

I donated this arch to a bike rally. It was hosted by the pre-school my kids used to go to. The balloon garland was re-used from another balloon arch I had done earlier that week. I simply added some blue and greens, and voila! a newish garland was born! I know everyone is spraying hi-shine on their balloons to make them glisten, but I actually prefer the oxidized look of the balloons once the sun hits them! My weekends are full of deliveries, which feels really special, but the weekends also seem to just pass by. I have decided that I am going to be more present at my installs and really get a feel for the people there. After this install today, I was reflecting on how I felt at the delivery. The bride-to-be was there with a whole crew of people ready to help get the party ready. It felt so comforting being in a space where the bride was so supported and loved. The bride’s crew had the entire room decorated before I was done the balloons, so I was able to witness the entire set up. It was gorgeous! I could see the vision and hard work come to life. As well, they were discussing the menu and some select guest’s dietary needs. It was so nice hearing the focus and care that was put into meeting each guests’ needs. I always believe that a party is for the guests. It is a celebration for the host, but the care you put into planning your party shows your guests how much you love them. I could tell today that there was a lot of love for the invited guests.
